5 Free PicMonkey Alternatives to Design Your Featured Image

Hi there.

Now I know PicMonkey is one of the most popular photo editors out there and for good reason. But today when I went over there to try it out, I realized something. It only has a paid version.

Uhhh… what?

I always knew that there was a paid version with lots of features but I always thought there was a free version that allowed some basic usage…………. Guess not.

Now that may not be a problem for some, but I’m the type who doesn’t like spending money very often. Except if it’s for books (and that’s a whole other topic of discussion). So in my quest (Google search) to find other free photo editors online, here’s what I found. Continue reading “5 Free PicMonkey Alternatives to Design Your Featured Image”

Japan! I have no words for you!

Oh. My. Gosh.

Once again, for emphasis… OH! MY! GOSH!

I.. went… toΒ  JAPAN!! (Will there be no end to the exclamation points?! Probably not.)

When? Last month! Today is actually the one month mark (thought it would be nice to publish this post today πŸ™‚ )

For how long? 9 whole daysssss!

Why? I applied for a program and I got in!

Ok, enough suspense; now for the details.

An Overview:

In August, I applied for JENESYSΒ (Japan East-Asian Network of Exchange of Students and Youths); a program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE). This was an international exchange program where 22 people from India (mainly Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi) traveled to Japan on an all – expense paid trip for 9 days. In Bangalore, the IJCCIΒ (Indo Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry) took care of all the formalities like participant selection and handling the interviews.

The trip took place from Sept 26 to Oct 4, 2016. This is not counting the entire day it took in transit on the 25th to reach Japan on the 26th. 7 participants traveled from Bangalore and met up with the Travel Agent and the remaining participants from Delhi. We took an evening flight on JAL (Japan Airlines) and after eight and a half hours, and surprisingly not that much anxiety, we reached Tokyo!

On a Slightly Cloudy Day

On a slightly cloudy day some months back,  I decided to try out my new Fish eye camera lens. However, the really cool part about my lens is that it’s a small clip-on lens for my phone! (Insert happy squeals πŸ™‚ )

It also comes along with a wide angle lens that I can’t understand and an amazing macro lens. I’ll put up more pictures soon.

P.S… Here’s a link to where it was bought. (it’s not an affiliate link; I’m not getting  any money out of it :)).

See you soon…

Remembering Christina Grimmie

Firstly, if you don’t know who Christina Grimmie is, here’s a link for you to do some background reading. In short, she was a 22 year old super – famous Singer YouTuber who was died in June 2016 rather tragically.

When I first heard about what had happened, I sympathized. But it was only yesterday when I truly realized who she was. Continue reading “Remembering Christina Grimmie”

Life Update – Work Life Blogging Balance

So even though I really like Blogging & have tons of half written posts waiting to see the light of day….

I don’t have time. (Story of my life!!!)

My life is mostly (with a dash of Reading).

So I have figured out a new way to work Blogging into this very thick schedule of mine. Hopefully it works. Hopefully it’ll help me (eventually) to work other things I like doing into my life.

So Like this post if you haven’t figured out that whole work – life balance thing.
Like it if you have (and please leave me a few tips below)
And follow me please if you wanna see how I end up making this process work.

Also a few ideas on how to go about this:

  1. Publish 1 post every time I’m off from work (that’ll be six times a month)
  2. Spend at least 15 mins a day going though other blog post and commenting and liking where ever applicable πŸ˜‰
  3. Repost a Blog post once a month
  4. Try and visit blogs of those who like & comment
  5. Try and get a guest Blogger every month or two

So See ya soon! (fingers crossed!)

On a Looop #1

Every once in a while, I hear a song that just clicks and for the next few days or weeks (I never know how long it will be), I will listen to it almost alllll the time! When I’m free, when I’m busy and humming the song, when I’m working, when I’m brushing my teeth, etc etc etc.

So I thought, why don’t I share those songs with you; maybe you will like it as much as I do. Here is this the first of – hopefully many – such playlists. Enjoy πŸ™‚ Continue reading “On a Looop #1”

“Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding

I generally like the songs sung by Ellie Goulding. They’re nice; including “Love Me Like You Do”. As you may know, it was one of the theme songs of the Fifty Shades of Gray Movie.

In my opinion, that’s what ruined the song.

I’m not a fan of the Fifty Shades series. I tried reading the book and didn’t even reach the movie. But the official video of Love Me Like You Do incorporates so many scenes from the movie. Because of this, even though I like the song, every time I watch the video or listen to the song, I’m reminded of the movie. This was probably the aim of the producers – to link the two together – but that is exactly why I feel like the song is ‘ruined’.

I would have liked the song a whole lot better if I wasn’t reminded of the Movie each time I heard it. It’s a really nice song; I’ve heard worse on the radio. So I do feel a little annoyed but I don’t let that stop me from listening to the song. Here is my favourite cover of the song by Tanner Patrick.

What do you think about the song? Do you like it? Do you like the Fifty Shades Series? Does anyone else share the same opinion as me? I’m really curious to know… let me know below.
